“If you try, you have to go all in. I hoped I would have one or two more guys with me but it was a solo mission. When I attacked, I was pretty cold, so I didn’t feel that good. But then I got better, and I just pushed on and tried my best. But just me against the peloton, it was really hard on these roads. It was fun!

It’s my first World Tour race, so to be on the podium, with the names that are here on the podium, it’s really special. It’s a childhood dream.”
