Georg Steinhauser: "I didn’t think I would be able to keep up with Vauquelin"

“Actually, I had good legs. I was a bit afraid when I looked at the profile yesterday but I’m super happy with how I could defend the third place in GC today. I have to say I’m surprising myself a bit. Two weeks ago, I wasn’t even supposed to do Paris-Nice. But now I’m here, and I’m making the most out of it. It’s still three days to go. It’s not gonna be easy but I’m in a good situation. Today, the tactic was to do my own pace in the climbs. To be honest, I didn’t think I would be able to keep up with a rider like [Kevin] Vauquelin. This gives me confidence.”
