Nice, between sea and mountains
Between sea and mountains, Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur, still blends at this time of year the blue of the Baie des Anges with the white peaks of the Mercantour. In just a few pedal strokes from the mer Méditerranée, you find yourself at the foot of the most beautiful climbs of the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, in the heart of a magnificent mountain territory.
On this penultimate day of racing, the riders of Paris-Nice will showcase everything our region has to offer at its most beautiful in March. Setting off from Nice, passing through the Vallée de la Tinée, before reaching Auron at an altitude of 1,600 metres for only the second time in the history of the Course au soleil (“Race to the Sun”), after a historic first last year.
It is in fact between Nice and Auron that the Metropolis has designed this unique route, which now makes it possible to connect the resort to Nice by mountain bike along a 261-km trail crossing the most beautiful panoramas of the Metropolis, with 7 stage towns and a passage through 16 municipalities.
