Casper Pedersen: “We took a really good shot”

“The polka-dot jersey is iconic and it’s super nice to wear it. We had the ambition to go for the stage as well but it’s very hard and in the end I think we did the best we could. We had a plan. We wanted to accelerate in the last 50 kilometres to try and challenge the bunch as much as possible. We had a really good collaboration in the breakaway. It was a strong group. In the end we get caught with 2 kilometres to go… We took a really good shot but it’s really hard to finish it off in a race like Paris-Nice. The goal is to go for some stage results. And now that we have the jersey, it would be nice to keep it for as long as possible but I’m not a climber so it will be challenging.”
