“I’m really happy to win here, in a World Tour stage race, one of the most important in the calendar. I know that Ilnur Zakarin won here in 2016, it’s a lucky mountain for us. I had good legs today. The plan to see how the last climb went and whether I should help Primoz or follow some attacks and go. I found the moment and decided I could go and I went for it. The conditions were tough, with rain and cold and in the last kilometres, my arms were very cold. It was cold and the parcours was tricky.”
