Van Aert: "Pedersen started early, and I thought it would play in my favour"

Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma): "Mads [Pedersen] was really impressive today. He’s a strong rider and a specialist for tough finishes like this. He started really early, and I thought it would play in my favour to allow me to pass him, but I wasn’t strong enough in the end. Tomorrow, I hope to do a good time-trial and then we all want to help Primoz [Roglic] to do a good GC. I’ll try to be the first one from my team in the TT and then we’ll see. Christophe [Laporte] can surprise, and then there’s a guy called Rohan Dennis, and Primoz Roglic… We should be close to victory."
