Jakobsen: “Today was a perfect day for me”

Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team): “We know Paris-Nice is about echelons and sprints in the first days. Then we’ll go to the mountains, and yesterday was too hard, but today was a perfect day for me. We love echelons with Quick-Step. We were four in the finale and I’m delighted I could sprint for the win. Jumbo-Visma were strong again, it wasn’t easy to follow them but we were very motivated. The legs hurt but we fought for it. Yves [Lampaert] and Florian [Sénéchal] did a great work in the finale. They went first but I was able to go past Van Aert on the right. It was slightly uphill but I like this type of finishes. It’s nice to be on the podium of Paris-Nice.”
