Saint-Cyr-l'École, in the outer suburbs of Paris, is a forward-looking town with a lot going for it. Located 24 kilometres to the west of the capital, Saint-Cyr-l'École bridges two places of great interest: Versailles, a city steeped in history and culture, and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, an economic and academic hub.

However, it is an ancient town whose history is often interwoven with that of France and predates the birth of the estate of Versailles by a long time. The Maison Royale de Saint-Louis, set up by Madame de Maintenon and later turned into a military academy by Napoleon, is its main claim to fame.

Part of the Versailles Grand Parc agglomeration community, Saint-Cyr-l'École extends across the plain of Versailles and has over 18 hectares of urban green spaces.

It also boasts a prime location and a dense transportation network. Directly linked to Paris and La Défense business district, from 2023 it will be served by tram line 13, which will connect it to Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Achères.

Always looking for new ways to improve the living environment of its inhabitants, Saint-Cyr has launched the Cyria project, which leverages artificial intelligence to optimise traffic and parking flows. The town is also working to make the entrances to its agglomeration more modern, aesthetic and eco-friendly and has forged a partnership with the Department to make sure that the redevelopment of its main thoroughfares gives pride of place to soft mobility.

Its rich natural heritage, first-rate infrastructure and dynamic businesses and associations make Saint-Cyr-l'École a pleasant living environment for the 19,654 people who call it their home. The town has been immersed in an ambitious transformation process for several years, revamping large areas and developing the Charles Renard neighbourhood in its northern part. From now until 2022, 1,500 homes will be built, along with activities, shops and public facilities such as a sports hall, a school and a social centre.

Finally, its 32 sports associations and 3,436 members make Saint-Cyr-l'École a town that moves to the beat of sport.
