Achères combines nature and accessibility, thanks to the RER A, the Transilien rail network and soon the T13 tram line. A town of more than 22,000 inhabitants, it is bordered to the west by the Seine and to the east by the State Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a protected area that has become a favourite playground for cyclists and hikers.
In recent years, the town of Achères has been reclaiming its plains through major development projects: the start of construction of the Seine Métropole Ouest port by Haropa Port (with completion scheduled for 2040), studies for the creation of a photovoltaic farm, the future development of a “business village,” and the construction of a new district in the Petite Arche development zone (ZAC).
All year round, Achères pulses with friendly, family-oriented events: the Pentecost Festival and its unmissable flea market in May ou June; the Children’s and Summer Festivals in June; and the Republican fireworks in July to kick off the summer season in style! In autumn, the Celery Festival showcases local producers and celebrates the town’s market-gardening heritage, followed by Octobre Rose (“Pink October”) and then the Christmas festivities, a time of sharing and magic at the heart of winter.
Achères has preserved its village spirit, and its quality of life is a decisive attraction for both new residents and those who aspire to settle here.
Supported by a strong network of local associations, Achères continues to invest in sports facilities with the creation of a skate park and 2-on-2 basketball courts, the extension of the Coubertin gymnasium and, soon, the Petite Arche gymnasium. Achères is a town to be enjoyed on foot and by bike!
