Start 11h30 (Local time)

Still points and seconds up for grabs

Sporting stakes08.03.2013Stage 6- Manosque / Nice

The longest stage in this Paris-Nice, a 220-kms ride to the Promenade des Anglais, will be a last opportunity to seize for those bold enough to try and pin their name on the scoreboard of this edition.

A winning break is not to be ruled out  if staged by a bunch or brave and determined riders. Usually, a large group emerges in this penultimate stage to Nice and it could well include a rider like Elia Viviani, who lost his green jersey to Andrew Talansky at Montagne de Lure but is only five points behind the American in the points classification. On the polka-dot jersey front, 31 points are up for grabs and could motivate riders intent on dislodging Johann Tschopp from the top of the climber's standings. As for the GC, while Richie Porte is probably out of reach since his winning move in stage 5, places on the podium are still undecided with only 30 seconds between second-placed Talansky and 10th placed Peter Velits. Bonifications in the intermediate sprints and at the finish could prove crucial for riders like Westra, Peraud, Van Garderen or Chavanel ahead of the last time trial up Col d'Eze.
