With 195 kms of flat terrain, the stage is set for sprinters to express themselves after a short prologue which was a first test of their current form.

Last year's experience should make the bunch wary of echelons yet weather forecasts do not point to strong winds on the roads of southern Ile-de-France on Monday. As a result, a bunch sprint is highly probable and the list of potential winners is a long one.
French champion Nacer Bouhanni, winner of a stage at the Tour of Oman, is among the most frequently cited, especially as he will be led out by Geoffrey Soupe, 5th in Sunday's preamble in Houilles. Germany's Marcel Kittel also shone in Oman and will be among the leading favourites with Italy's Elia Viviani, also convincing in the prologue. Australia's Mark Renshaw, winner in Almeria earlier this season, Belgium's Tom Boonen or Italy's Alessandro Petacchi are the other strong finishers who should feature prominently in Nemours. But Yellow Jersey holder Damien Gaudin made it clear he would not relinquish his garment without a fight: “I know one thing for sure… I'll hold the Yellow Jersey at the start... and hopefully at the finish!”
