Bennett: “Proud I could finish it off”

The guys were incredible today, leading all the way in the last two kilometres. I just got back on line just before the roundabout. It was a very hard finale, I didn’t think I would hold it to the line. The guys did an incredible job and I’m proud I could finish it off. I don’t know why some guys seem to base their sprint around mine instead of focusing on their own race. Maybe because my team-mates are too strong! I was really happy to get the first stage and really, really disappointed on the second sprint day. It really wanted to make up for it today. I can’t thank the guys enough. Now I’m going to stay in condition for the end of the race and then Milan-San Remo hopefully.
